The setting of the story
The Mystery at the Blue Sea Cottage takes place in the fictional seaside town of Willington-by-the-Sea, located somewhere on the English coast. It’s a picturesque town with a mix of old and new, its historic buildings standing shoulder-to-shoulder with newer developments. The village green is a tranquil spot, as is the churchyard. But the nearby beach is a hive of activity in summer months, with holiday makers taking advantage of its sheltered bay and its abundance of wildlife. It’s here that most of the action of the book takes place, as the mystery deepens around the cottage and its inhabitants.
