Touch is one of the most powerful senses that we have. The way our fingertips feel when they come into contact with something, whether it’s smooth and soft or hard and rough, reminds us of how different things can feel. This reminder is a blessing because it tells us to appreciate the differences in life and not take any thing for granted. It also helps us to be more mindful about what we do with our hands so that we can try to make them as soft and gentle as possible.
How can we be more grateful for our blessings?
In today’s world, we can get so caught up in the everyday hustle and bustle that we forget to stop and enjoy the beauty that surrounds us. When life gets hard, our first instinct is to curl up in a ball and hope for things to get better. But sometimes all it takes is a gentle reminder from God.
It was a typical day for me, sitting at my computer, with papers scattered around me as I attempted to finalize an assignment for school. I knew what needed to be done, but the words just wouldn’t come out on the page in front of me. The only thing I could think about was how much time I had wasted on this assignment when there were other things that should have been taken care of first.
A touching reminder
I recently went to church and as I was listening to the sermon, I began to reflect on how blessed my life is. It made me think about all the things that have happened in my life and all the things that are happening. Looking back, I am so grateful for everything. The only thing that I need now is a little bit more faith. My fingers are touched by the Lord’s blessings because they remind me of the good in my life and help me recognize what a blessing it is just to be alive.
